Express Mail International

Express Mail International® service provides reliable high–speed service for mailing time–sensitive items to more than 190 countries and territorial possessions. It provides customers with expeditious handling and delivery on an “on demand” basis.

Document reconstruction insurance and merchandise insurance up to $100 is provided at no additional cost. Additional merchandise insurance coverage may be purchased at the mailer’s option. The fee for optional Express Mail International merchandise insurance coverage is $0.75 up to $200; $2.10 for $200.01 to $500; and $2.10 plus $1.35 for each $500 or fraction thereof over $500, up to a maximum of $5,000 per shipment, although limits vary by country. Express Mail International with Guarantee service — which offers a date–certain, postage–refund guarantee — is available to select destinations. Check IMM 220 and the Individual Country Listings for the availability of such service.

Return receipt service for Express Mail International shipments is available to certain destination countries, at no additional charge. See IMM 221.4 and the Individual Country Listings in the IMM for availability.

There are six convenient ways to pay for Express Mail International service:

  1. Postage stamps.
  2. Postage meter strips.
  3. Express Mail® corporate account (EMCA).
  4. Federal agency account number.
  5. Click-N-Ship® at USPS.com®.
  6. PC Postage® through an authorized vendor.

The maximum weight limit for Express Mail International shipments varies by country, ranging from 22 pounds to 70 pounds. See the “Express Price Group” column and the “Express Max. Wt. Limit (lb.)” column in the Country Listing for the Express Mail International price group and maximum weight limit that apply to each destination country.

Customers who pay for Express Mail International postage online through Click-N-Ship or through an authorized PC Postage vendor will pay 8 percent less than retail postage prices. Customers who pay for Express Mail International postage through a permit imprint advance deposit account or EMCA may be eligible to pay 8 percent to 12 percent less than retail postage prices.
